Human Consciousness

The Sphere of Light

Within the profound teachings of ancient esoteric traditions, human consciousness is vividly described as the sphere of light. This sphere of light functions as the historical subject of the individual, serving as the active stage where our daily, waking awareness operates. Consciousness begins to develop the very moment a human being discovers themselves as a distinct, separate entity in the world, which creates what is known as the schema of self. This schema of self acts as the continuous, subjective history of the individual, recording memories and experiences to build a coherent personality. Unlike the vast, mechanical universe that operates on a continuous, external flow of time, human consciousness operates within its own localized flow called immanent time.

Because consciousness generates its own immanent time, it allows the individual to possess a unique historical thread that runs transversally to the mechanical time of the external cosmos. However, this highly developed sphere of light is not a true reflection of spiritual freedom. Instead, it is an elaborate psychological construct designed by the creator of the material universe to keep the human being focused entirely on the physical world.

The conscious subject animates the mind, constantly processing thoughts, emotions, and external stimuli to maintain the heavy illusion of material reality. Therefore, while consciousness gives us the sensation of being alive and aware, it fundamentally serves as the brightly lit prison cell of the true, eternal spirit, keeping the individual bound to the everyday dramas of human existence.

The Sphere of Shadow

The Depths of the Unconscious Mind

Directly beneath the brightly lit realm of everyday awareness lies the vast and mysterious unconscious mind, which ancient wisdom refers to as the shadow sphere. The shadow sphere is an immense psychological region formed by the deep interpenetration of the individual's rational and affective spheres, acting as the hidden foundation for all human behavior.

To fully understand the unconscious mind, it must be divided into two primary regions. The first is the superficial shadow sphere, which is the slight unconscious that closely borders the threshold of our daily, waking consciousness. The second, and far more profound, is the deep shadow sphere. The deep shadow sphere houses the archetypal memory, which functions as the physical brain and contains the deepest ancestral memories, primitive instincts, and fundamental psychological complexes designed by the creator of the universe.

Everything that eventually emerges into our conscious awareness must first originate in this dark, unconscious realm. The shadow sphere is deeply tied to the mechanical laws of the universe, meaning it is constantly influenced by the transcendent, flowing time of the cosmos. By keeping the deepest human desires, fears, and biological drives hidden within the shadow sphere, the creator ensures that human beings react mechanically to the world around them without ever questioning the true, hidden motives behind their own actions. Ultimately, the shadow sphere acts as a massive repository of controlling forces designed to keep the human spirit asleep.

The Cosmic Trap

The Relationship between Mind, Soul, and Spirit

To truly grasp the nature of human existence, one must recognize the absolute division between the created nature of the mind and soul, and the uncreated nature of the spirit. According to these esoteric teachings, the human soul and the physical body were entirely created by a lesser, despotic architect known as the Demiurge. The mind and the soul belong strictly to this created nature, meaning they are mortal, corruptible, and bound to the strict laws of evolution and time. The soul's primary function is to experience the material world, process emotions, and constantly feed vital energy back to the creator of the universe.

Consciousness, the unconscious mind, and the rational mind are merely highly mechanical, working components of this created soul, designed exclusively to tie the individual to the earth
. In stark contrast, the spirit is entirely uncreated, eternal, and divine, originating from a realm of absolute freedom existing far beyond the material universe. Through an ancient cosmic betrayal, these pure, eternal spirits were forcibly captured and chained to the biological bodies and earthly souls of early humanity.

Because the eternal spirit is violently trapped deep inside the conscious subject and surrounded by the heavy, emotional illusions of the soul, it falls into a profound sleep. The greatest tragedy of humanity is that this divine spirit suffers from absolute amnesia, falsely identifying itself with the rational mind, the physical body, and the created soul.

The Path of Awakening

Breaking Free from the Psychological Prison

For the individual who wishes to awaken and achieve ultimate spiritual freedom, the profound realization that the mind, soul, and consciousness operate as a complex cosmic prison is absolutely necessary.

The path to true liberation demands a radical and uncompromising internal rebellion against the heavy, mechanical structures of the soul and the unconscious mind. This profound spiritual journey is not about finding peace within the material world, but about strategically isolating the true, eternal ego from the illusions of the conscious subject. To achieve this, the awakened warrior must declare a total inner war against their own psychology, systematically destroying the false images, emotional attachments, and cultural conditioning that make up their human personality.

By completely isolating the eternal spirit from the emotional demands of the soul and the rational calculations of the mind, the individual builds an impenetrable walled fortress within themselves.

Inside this internal fortress, the mechanical time of the cosmos and the biological demands of the human body can no longer influence the true self. Through this rigorous process of strategic opposition, the divine spirit finally awakens from its long, earthly slumber. Completely separated from the psychological mind and the demiurgic soul, the uncreated spirit regains its absolute sovereignty, ready to break the chains of material existence and return to its original homeland beyond the stars.
